I'm currently dating a guy and it was difficult telling him I collect dolls. I knew I wanted to tell him, but I didn't want him to think I was "immature" or "weird" like other guys had said before. Finally, I got up my confidence and flat-out told him. He was happy for me and wonderful about it. He even named one of my custom dolls.
How do you ladies (or guys) go about telling your boyfriend/girlfriend?

Yea! Glad he was accepting of you! He must really like you!!!!! I've been with my husband for 18 years (6 years dating, and 12 years married) so my DH doesn't bat his eye at anything anymore, plus I have two little girls (4 y/o, and 1 1/2 y/o) so I'm basically collecting these dolls for them

My husband collects lego and has all his old matchbox cars (for our sons... but they can't touch them lol) so I was all fine lol I did feel more silly asking my mum to buy me a doll for my 29th brithday, especially seeing she wouldn't buy them for me when I was a kid. But she did

I've been collecting toys for about 20 years and I don't think anyone's ever given me a hard time about it. Almost everyone collects something, so I don't even think to mention it to people unless the topic comes up. Any time I've brought a girl home, they haven't said anything beyond "Wow, that's a lot of action figures." If a girl didn't like it, it'd just be another reason to dim the lights! I don't remember my wife's initial reaction, but she was actually jealous of my toys for a while until she started her own collections.

I have always collected something, not always toys but always something, so my DH knew of my collecting and when I started w/toys and dolls he was very supportive and a lot of my rare toys/dolls have come from him! He is a real keeper

I lucked out by rediscovering my love for dolls after I got married. My husband has been very supportive about it, we even collect some of the MLP dolls together. It always makes me happy to hear about couples who support each others hobbies!

I have been with my hubby for 12 years and when we were dating I told him right off the bat, I collected Cabbage Patch kIds then(the vintage ones) and had a massive 150+ collection, he was very happy for me and helped me hunt them down, he also collected star wars toys! I think you may have found a great guy there!
