I collect MH as well as Lalaloopsy and there is soooooo much new stuff coming out at once. I feel like I need to get a job to keep up with everything. What do you guys do when there is so much you want to buy at once? I don't need everything right away but with MH if I don't get some things whenI see them, I may never see them again at retail.

We were collecting both for awhile and I got overwhelmed as well. Lalaloopsy won out bc its DDs favorite. We still have all the main MH characters but no multiples. We also don't do multiples of characters for lalaloopsy minis. We have so many of the large dollies that with the last couple waves I told DD she had to start picking only her favorites. We are planning to only get Confetti and Haley out of these new wave and will wait for minis of Mint E and Teddy.

I dropped back my collecting of both heaps! I just felt like I was unable to "collect them all" so Im WAY more picky about what I buy. No regrets so far

Wow! It's so tough to be collecting both of those brands at once ... they're both so successful right now that they're both just pumping out tons of new stuff all the time. I can see how easily you'd get overwhelmed! Fortunately for me, when Banana wanted to start a second doll collection, it was Bratz and I was able to make her do it primarily from the thrift store and flea market arena! Anyway, best advice for you ... watch for sales, try not to ever pay full price for anything. Price match and get the lower price whenever possible. And like us with Lala, you may just have to decide eventually there are certain lines you're just NOT going to collect. Maybe get one example from the line, but not collect all the dolls from it.

I am just going to get a few things for now. Collecting should be fun and I am stressing myself out thinking I may miss out on something.

When we started collecting the large Lalas I felt like that. Trying so hard to find all the oldies while keeping up with the new just so that we'd have the full collection. I finally gave up on that and have a list of the ones we want that we don't have and will just pick out favorites of the new to buy. 0-35 dolls in six months was stressfull, lol.

We were big into MH at first, to me the Lala dolls looked silly and useless... we were buying a MH doll weekly it seemed just to keep up, Sometimes 3-4 dolls a week... it was intense, but I really loved them. Well 2 christmas's ago my mother in law gave my daughter Misty Mysterious... I'm not sure what happened in that moment, but I was in love. I didn't buy my first lala till August after that, and by Christmas I had accumulated about 25 full size dolls (a few were the littles) I also got her several minis, so she went from 1 to over 25 dolls in one day... I started noticing that MH was getting too repetitive (swim lines, sleep lines, etc etc), and since Christmas I decided we would only collect new characters IF we liked them... we don't like headmistress, twyla or gigi... but we're stoked about Heath, and the eventual Slow Mo. With lalas, we decided to only collect large dolls, no minis, and no oopsies. This makes it really easy... and only if we like them, I'm done trying to be a completionist... It's been hard not to buy everything, cause I love it all, but seriously, I'm tired of going broke, lol.

For me it's only fun. I can't possibly go for the "must have them all" style...Since I primarily collect Blythe and they are costly, plus they had been out for long before I met them, and many old releases have reached important prices! So I am used to choose between them: I go for redheads, for a certain mold, etc. As with Mini Lalas I have to like the colors and the dress. Unfortunately they are very cute most of the time, so I do have quite a few! But I am resisting the Mini Oopsies! And the Large ones are too big for our tastes, so we're safe on that side (my daughter is not a child any more and collects Azones) !!
