Just curious if any of you guys had seen this article, and if so, what you thought of these dolls? They're by Carter Bryant (designer of Bratz) and his sister. Banana's initial reaction to the photo was really enthusiastic, and that was without my having told her of any connection to Bratz or anything. So hopefully kids will think they're cute. Definitely different! money.cnn.com/2013/02/04/smallbusiness/bratz-dolls-pinkie-cooper/index.htmlAttachments:

They.....are.....strange..... if they are dogs, why do they have pet dogs? I was wondering the same thing about the pets.

I would think the pet dogs are a different species than Pinkie and the other anthro dogs. Kinda like how monkeys are a different species from humans or how Snarf from Thundercats is different than the rest of them. Or how Pluto and Goofy are both doglike but different species.

Yes, they both evolved from miacoids, but they clearly adapted differently, likely branching very early during the Pleistocene epoch. While the smaller pets largely stayed true to the "traditional" canid form, closely related to the Canis lupus familiaris subspecies (but also containing mild feliformia traits), the girls more closely resemble some sort of domestic lycanthrope. They could easily be classified as Canis erectus...possibly even sapiens, although their cranial structure suggests a possible abnormal encephalization level, so it may be more appropriate to class them as Canis magnus or Canis distortus until further anthropological studies can be done.
