Have you been watching some of the ebay auctions lately? I saw Spot go for over $90.00 over the weekend and this morning I saw an auction for Bea that was already over $50.00. I forgot to save that one to see what it sold for. I haven't seen prices like this since right before Christmas. So it appears that collectors are trying to complete their set of First Edition dolls. I wonder how this will play out in the months ahead?

Good grief! Some of those prices are getting insane! Yes, it is definitely a collector's market out there.

Most definitely a collector's market! I keep hoping that the prices will stay moderate so that we can ENJOY them as well as collect them.
If the prices get too high, some people will be afraid to play with their LaLas, or even remove them from the boxes. Where's the fun in that?

They will go higher. MGA should have made the first edition at least a year before retiring.

LOL! Yes, Inkie, you should! Lots of people are doing that.
It's amazing to me how much some people are willing to shell out for the things they want.
For me, one thing I really enjoy about collecting the LaLas is that they are inexpensive. When things get pricey it takes a lot of the fun out of it. (Although I do have a few things that I have paid dearly for.)

It's insane!
It makes me so sad because we really want Peanut, Bea, and Spot to play with.
But at the ebay prices, I can't afford to spend close to 100$ when you factor in shipping for these dolls.
Inkiemama, do you really have that many on the shelf? Is there any way I could ask you to pick them up for me?

Ooooo yes, Australian post is crazy if I remember correctly the last time I tried to have something shipped.
And these darn dolls are sooo big! Hahahaha!
I wonder if there's any chance of finding these ladies other than ebay?
I've been looking forever and no luck at all.

Vortex, have you tried toysrus.com or target.com?
And be sure to check the "buy it nows" on ebay. Sometimes you can still find them for good prices. And with the price of gas, the shipping costs can actually be less expensive than going out looking everywhere.

Thank you for the tips Bama!
I definitely check those regularly and they remain out of stock literally *everywhere* online and I have yet to see an ebay price that gets anywhere close to the shelf price.
Too bad for us that we got addicted too late in the game. Hahahahaa!

The deals are few, but still to be had if you keep a watchful eye. That's how I finally got my Mittens. I searched for literally months! But persistance paid off. Good luck in your search!
