Hey everyone! It's been ages since I've been a useful member or contributor here. I've really been missing being more involved, but the new school year and blogging stuff and all that has kept me pretty busy.
I just had to come and share though with people who would appreciate it, though. A couple of weeks ago, I had a message from my mom when I got done with the art classes I've been teaching at my daughters' school. She had been at one of the local secondhand shops and had found a TON of mini Lalaloopsies! She'd bought quite a few of them, but she's still not as familiar with which Lalas are which, so she wanted me to come by and make sure she hadn't missed any.
It was really hard not to sit there and squeal in the store. There were so many Lalas that aren't being made anymore! We ended up spending a lot more than we would have because the lady who owned the shop had them packaged all wrong, so we'd buy some baggies just because they had the accessory we needed for a different Lala.
Anyway, when all was said and done, we had a whole lot of Lalaloopsies! Since our church's Ladies Retreat was coming up that weekend, we took everything with us so we could go through it there.
I hope all the pictures won't annoy everyone, but I thought it might be fun for you to see everything as we saw it.
So here's what we started with:
And here's everything out of the baggies:
After we got everything out of the baggies, we went through the long process of sorting everything, doing online research, and labeling things:
So, do you recognize some fun treasures? We figured out almost everything except for a few extra accessories. I was most excited about most of BERRY'S KITCHEN!!! and everything from the Prince Handsome and Cinderslippers set...except for Cinderslippers. I also now have Sprouts Sunshine to add to my Target Exclusives collection.
My mom was most excited about Sir Battlescarred, Bun Bun Sticky Icing, Praire Dusty Trails, Feather Tell-a-Tale, and the original Scoops Waffle Cone with pink hair.
My aunt was thrilled to get Mango Tikki Wikki, Bubbles Smack n' Pop, and Jelly Wiggle Jiggle.
We decided to list a couple of them on eBay, but we've fallen in love with so many of them that most of them will probably stay with us. I do have Patch Treasure Chest and Jewel's Primpin' Parlor set listed on eBay right now. You can see them HERE (Sorry it linked to everything.)
I tried to list them at reasonable prices but high enough that we recover some of what we spent. And honestly, if they don't sell, we're okay with keeping them.
Thanks for persevering through this long post...it was fun to share it with fellow Lala lovers. We feel like we hit the Lala jackpot!!
The gal who had them in the store said this was the first time she's seen them secondhand. She's wondering if moms are going to start getting overwhelmed with all of the Lalaloopsies and if we will start seeing more of them at yard sales and thrift stores. What do you guys think?
