This pleases me.
So I guess I'll start by telling you all how I got into Lalaloopsy. I work in retail, and our stock is pretty random. Since I'm the one who sorts and prices every item that comes into the store, I get to see everything, and a couple of weeks ago I saw the Lala-Oopsie dolls for the first time. They stood out compared to the more generic-looking dolls (stuff like Barbie, Bratz etc.), and I immediately thought to myself, I wonder if these have a cartoon? I wonder if it's good? I'd always been skeptical of overly girly stuff (besides clothes), since I was raised on video games and Lego.
So when I got home, I Googled, found the Lalaloopsy Wikipedia article, and learned of the TV series and webisodes. I watched the webisodes first and got hooked on the lighthearted humor and likeable, diverse characters. Even though I could tell it was definitely aimed at little kids, the writing is solid and kept me interested. As a 25-year old who can't even have kids, I still enjoyed it of my own accord for what it was. So after I torrented most of season 1 of the show (I don't have TV or an Apple device to use iTunes), I decided I wanted to get one of the dolls to add a little more girlish appeal to my room (if not for my clothes, it would look like a guy's room, what with all the video games and weaponry lying around), and to see how well articulated they were. Walked for 14 kilometers or so, went to 3 different stores, and finally settled on the big Scarlet Riding Hood doll for my first Loopsy. I love her design and even have a Little Red Riding Hood costume of my own. I can't say I'm a fan of how Loopsies can't stand up on their own power, but the cuteness makes up for it. Thinking of getting Peanut, Spot, and/or Peppy next if I can find them. Peanut and Spot are my favorite characters from the show, and Peppy is awesome just because she's a cheerleader.
So that's that story. Other than Lalaloopsy, I'm really into SheZow, as well as writing (147,245 words of SheZow fanfiction so far), occasional attempts at art, anime, cracking wise, and video gaming (as of late I mostly play Warframe).
