Hey guys! This is an MGA product release we've been keeping an eye on for a while, but haven't really said much about, because... well, there hasn't really been a whole lot to say! hehe Super excited this evening to see the first image posted on their official Twitter account:
These look really cute, and we can't wait to learn more about them! We had found three store listings for them, indicating there will be a "starter pack", a "deluxe pack", and a "playset" ... but again, not sure of the size or scale of these or anything. But it looks like they are gearing up to introduce them soon! If you want to follow and keep an eye on the official social media accounts and website, they are:

Could these be the Nibblers? They look very "lalaloopsyish" minus the eyes which could have been changed to make them a separate thing.

I think it is very possible... sounds like kind of a similar concept, and yes, right away this picture reminded me of the little ice cream scoop pet that comes with the Lalaloopsy Tinies Scoops Ice Cream Shop playset!

See the video yet? They were a bit bigger than I was expecting. Yep, us too. Not sure about the lip gloss thing either, but the motorized noms are cool. Banana is excited that they have blind baskets (cartons?)...

Wardah They're cute, I'm just not a big fan of lip gloss coming in toys. I've found that it can sometimes end up getting icky & smelly later on its lifespan. Still a cute idea though that I'm sure kids will like.

Still a cute idea though that I'm sure kids will like. I mean if you clean out the gloss they could be cute little storage things. What I wonder about is the Special Edition ones. 2 of them come with the playset but what about the others. As far as I know there is only one playset so are the other Special ones in the blind packs?

Wardah Yeah, we were thinking maybe the other Special Editions would be like they do with Shopkins, and you would have to hope to find them in the blind packs. But not sure, it could also be they will come with other special release items/playsets later in the season, too? Or store exclusives for other places that we haven't seen yet. MGA doesn't usually make their Special Edition stuff really super hard to find...

I asked BH if they knew anything about this. Here's what they informed me: "Yes, these were originally planned to be a new product line within the Lalaloopsy brand, we didn't think too much about them because we were busy covering the Bratz comeback...Target has them listed as Lalaloopsy Num Noms, but need to check with Toys R Us CSIS and see if they're listed as the same. We've already chosen which Toys R Us we'll post our official find of the Num Noms at, we don't want to say anything about this yet, but it's obvious which Toys R Us it will be... The Num Noms are a spinoff of the pets that were included with the Lalaloopsy dolls, hence the button eyes on the characters. The playset looks similar to the Lalaloopsy Minis playsets that MGAE had released previously. They were planned for release in Fall 2015, before MGAE decided to make them their own brand. MGAE put the Lalaloopsy Nibblers on hold until they figure out what to do with them. They may be part of future Num Noms releases. Lalaloopsy will continue in Spring 2016 just the way they did before...the offering will be much smaller than in years past and it's up to stores to decide what to do, but stores will either be reducing the shelf space for them or keeping them the same. We know there will be Lalaloopsy Girls in Spring 2016, but we haven't heard if any stores ordered them or not (Toys R Us did not order the Cake Fashion and Basic ones released in Fall 2015)." MGA doesn't usually make their Special Edition stuff really super hard to find... Moose makes their Limited Edition stuff too limited but these are Special Edition which is the special themed one which shows up in every 12 pack. I hope the Num Noms Special Editions end up something like a store exclusive pack rather than a playset since I don't have room for them.

True ... so maybe there are Special Edition Num Noms included with some of the regular packs too. I couldn't really pick up on that from the video, if so. Maybe they'll say more about Special Edition in upcoming videos. Did you see their new one today where they opened some of the blind packages? They all came with the lip gloss Noms. Edited to add: Actually just realized after capturing a photo of the checklist that the first one they open in the blind pack video is a Special Edition Num, the cotton candy one!

From what I could see of the list there is also supposed to be a second Special Edition moving Nom. Since all the blind pack Nums are lip gloss ones I wonder where that one will be.

Wardah You mean it looked like a different moving Nom than the one that comes with the playset?

Wardah You mean it looked like a different moving Nom than the one that comes with the playset? I couldn't see it clearly but there were two in that section. If one of them goes with the playset the other has to be a different one. Edit: I think I deciphered it. I was looking at the video again to get more clues and it seems there is a Special Edition 4 pack that contains the other moving Nom and 3 of the Cupcake Nums. That leaves 2 Cupcake and 2 Ice Cream Nums that I think will probably be hidden in the blind packs.

According to the back of the package 8 the video there are 6 different sets of starter packs. Were the 4 in the pic the only ones there?

Wardah Yes, at this store they only had the four 4-packs and the two 8-packs that I've shown. Could be they didn't get them all if there is supposed to be more?

If you pause the first video 3 minutes in it shows a Banana Split Ice Cream pack and the Special Edition Confetti Surprise Cupcake. Maybe someone was there before you and snatched them up.
