From Lalaloopsy facebook ... Did you know that today is the End of Middle Ages Day? That’s a special day for Lalaloopsy…. Because it’s Sir Battlescarred’s birthday! Sir Battlescarred was sewn from a knight's armor. He's a fearless hero who loves archery, play sword-fighting, and storming the castle, but he always makes peace by lunchtime. He has a pet dragon.

I love that he has a dragon although I'm not crazy about the armor. The little bandage up by his eye is awfully cute!

I was thinking the same thing, inkie ... why don't the boy lalas get fun, colorful hair like the girls do?

I'm kind of glad to see that MGA has branched out into doing brown hair for their Lalas. Now I want a girl with brown hair, and a boy with purple or blue hair. LOL.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the little dragon!

I like him! It's neat they're finally branching out to more realistic hair colors, and his little dragon sorta reminds me of Dratini from Pokemon. And I don't think the point was ever to make him wear realistic medieval armor anyway, but rather what a modern kid's version of it would look like. I especially think the flag/heraldry colors on his hoodie are a fun touch. (I'm mostly drawing experience from Patch here, they didn't exactly have cargo shorts back in the old days ) Sir Battlescarred was sewn from a knight's armor How does that even work? That's one powerful sewing machine ;D

I think MGA is thinking that little boys might be teased or called sissies if they carry around or openly play with a brightly colored doll.
This is just a guess on my part, but I know little boys who wouldn't touch a doll in general(for fear of being teased), and even more so if it was brightly colored & "girly." It's a shame that stigmas like this still exists, but it does.

I love this one! I want him for my little boy! I have a thing for dragons as you might have guessed! When does he come out anyone know?
And the dragon does look like Dratini! I have a little Dratini plush on my computer at my parents house!

I guess I was visualizing full armor, which would be pretty silly on a modern little boy, haha!

I really like him. I think the natural hair colors on the boys blend well with the girls - I think any bright "boyish" colors would probably clash a great deal with the girls. I would like to bring him home to be a buddy for Patch. My son was really blond as a kid, and my husband has brown hair - and a very large surgical scar on his abdomen, so a little scar next to Sir's eye doesn't bother me at all! What kid makes it through childhood without a little accident now and then? He is very boy! Jen
