I grabbed three of these from my Target yesterday. I was surprised to see the display already more than half empty. Apparently I wasn't the only one who saw the stocking stuffer potential 😉

The prices for these on ebay are insane. My mom is going out shortly and she's going to swing by Target for me. I hope ebayers start selling them unwrapped though, because for $8 each, I'm not going to be buying many and there are certain ones I want.
ETA: Well! My mom talked to someone in the toy department and my store is not getting them. At all. So you might want to ask if you don't see them. Brickseek doesn't have them available anywhere near me either, so I signed up for TRU in stock alerts. Best I can do until people start listing their opened ones on ebay, I guess.

Thanks for sharing this - I've been waiting for any of the 3 closest Targets to get them in but they've been out. Maybe they won't be getting them either? Has anyone seen them in TRU or Walmart stores yet? Amazon has them for like $20something each & Walmart has them for $30something each online?! craziness... nice stocking stuffer but we can wait until we find them for normal prices.

OMG they're sold out at every Target I've been to! Some people have gone so far as to take the display. Crazy! I also read how Target's associates have been lying to guests about how their stores don't have any LOL Surprise balls in stock (when, in fact, they do - they just won't bring out the huge display). One person complained that she bought ten of the LOL Surprise balls, but a manager stopped her just as she was leaving and forced her to return eight of them because the store has a "rule" in place where you're limited to two per guest. I mean, Target's in the business to MAKE MONEY. Why would they put principle over profit? It makes no sense. BTW there are no codes imprinted anywhere on the balls to help you identify which character you'll get. It's random and unpredictable. The prices for these on ebay are insane. My mom is going out shortly and she's going to swing by Target for me. Hmm, well, that's interesting, but there's no way to prove the girl was lying to my mom. Brickseek is pretty reliable and nowhere in my area has them. So she wasn't lying about that. If they do turn up at the store eventually, then she may have been lying, but she also may have been uninformed. Happens easily enough.
I honestly don't mind limits because scalpers are buying the entire display and putting it up on ebay for hundreds. They're buying these things more than parents and collectors, I'm sure. Just look at ebay. I would rather only be able to buy two than buy none because scalpers wiped my store out.

I had heard that an MGA rep has to put the display up and that's why some stores don't have them out yet.

I have to say, what kinda baffles me with this whole thing, is why MGA makes the decision to create hype and excitement for a product if they know they're not going to be able to fulfill the demand? For instance, why give your social media team the directive to tell customers the dolls "will be in all Target stores on 12/12" and then barely get them out to half of the stores by that date? I mean, you have to realize that's only going to create frustration and disappointment. Especially around the holidays.

The saga continues!
I checked Brickseek again a few minutes ago and now a lot of the stores within a couple hundred miles do have them. Every single store was ZERO yesterday and now lots of them have 36, so the displays only just arrived here.
I called my Target, which is notorious for not taking things from the back for people. The girl I talked to said the display just came in and would be put out as soon as someone got back from break. It was supposed to get there by the 4th! I'm having 3 held for me at electronics, which the manager was okay with, and my mom is off to pick them up right now. (Thankfully, we only live a mile away!) So the girl Mom spoke to yesterday was completely wrong. They just hadn't arrived yet, but I can see how when they didn't get something that was supposed to be out on the 4th that she thought they weren't getting it. Or she made stuff up. Who knows?
So I'm not sure who's at fault about the whole 12/12 thing. Did MGAE not get the product to the stores in time or was it an issue at the Target warehouses? We'll probably never know. I hate to see dates like this attached to toys though, because it always gets messed up. Target handled the DC Superhero Girls release poorly, too.

I had heard that an MGA rep has to put the display up and that's why some stores don't have them out yet. The girl I spoke with said the display would go up once an employee got back from break, so I don't think that's true. I doubt they have MGAE reps on staff! Heh.

venivididolli Yay!! So excited you're about to finally get your hands on some! Be sure to let us know who you get! And also good to know they're making their way to more stores in your area now. Hopefully that's happening everywhere, so more people will be able to get them before the holidays too. And they should also be hitting TRU and Kohl's soon. Yeah... I wish they just wouldn't announce a particular date that something's going to arrive at "ALL" Target or whatever store. That just never seems to work out. lol

I got Fancy and Fresh (LOVE her) from the Opposites set and two of the Superhero girl. I'm about to take pictures and pop her on ebay, unless someone here wants to swap? I didn't even have to open all her little packages, because I could see from my opened one that they were all correct.
I'm pretty addicted. They were putting up the display when Mom was there, so she was able to snag me one more than the 3 they held, but I might ask her to grab me a few more when she's done with work. They're really fun to open!

We don't need the Superhero girl, but if you do end up getting more and have any other dupes, we do have a Center Stage available for trade. We also have an extra Fresh too, but you already got her.

So my mom is a bit prone to addiction when it comes to blind stuff. I have way too many Gift'ems and Yowies thanks to that! Well, now I've got 16 LOL Surprises, too! We got 4 the first time, then she brought me 6 (I'd told her 3) after work. We had such fun opening the 6 that she ran back to the store before they closed and bought another 6. It's expensive, but I figure this first batch is the best way of avoiding getting double after double, so maybe we'll get a few more tomorrow and then I'll just swap or buy whoever's left that I need. Once a new case of 36 is put out, you could be buying doubles all over again! We did pretty well. Out of 16 balls, we only got 3 doubles: 2 Super B.B. and 1 Merbaby. I've got 1 Super on ebay, but I'm leaving my others off until I finish buying blind. Then I'll just put all the doubles up together. So if anyone wants any, let me know. We did get one glitter: Crystal Queen! No little tiny babies. I wonder what comes with those and what color ball they're in. The glitters seem to be in golden balls. I'm having trouble posting a pic, so here's a link to my shot of all 13: www.flickr.com/photos/venivididolli/31547340392/

Okay, I have doubles of the superhero, mermaid, roller skater, cheerleader, ballerina, cat girl, line dancer and Fresh. I still need Teacher's Pet and Rocker, who are my two favorites, Sis Swing and Leading Baby. I only have one of the glitters (Crystal), but I don't hope to trade for those. I would buy the other 3 though!
We got pretty lucky and got a gold ball with not one but two of the littlest babies inside (MC and Skater). Are they supposed to come with two?
I'm still disappointed I got neither of the ones I really wanted (and missed out on winning an ebay auction because I got caught up in unwrapping and I'm dumb), but we did well overall and I'm done buying blind balls. I'll stick with ebay and hopefully trading to round out my collection.

There's a YouTube video where someone opens a gold ball that has the two little ones together in it too. I also saw an eBay listing for two little ones together (for $75 unfortunately). So yeah, it's not a mistake or anything... just an awesome find!! We're still hoping to find some of the little ones. We opened a few more last night too. The only dupes we've ended up with for trade at this point are Fresh and Center Stage, so it doesn't sound like we can help each other out. I will go ahead and start a trading area here for LOL Surprise though, that's a good idea. Maybe more folks will jump in and be able to make trades.

Have you found any of the four I'm missing or Glitter Queen and Cosmic Queen? I haven't seen them in videos or on ebay, so I was wondering if the full set is even out yet.
