Inkie, your teacups are so pretty! How many do you have? I mentioned in my intro that I have collected antique & mohair teddy bears for years. I never dreamed that I would ever collect dolls. My daughter liked dolls at an early age but outgrew them and never looked back. But then my granddaughter was born and I started buying dolls for her and realized how wonderful some of them are. Soooo........before I knew it, I had started a collection of my own too. I have bought & sold many dolls over the last 5-6 years from American Girl to vintage & antique. I have enjoyed them all, but some have stayed close to my heart. Right now, I collect Ginger Brook Hollow dolls, A Life of Faith dolls, a few German Gotz dolls, and the LaLas. I have a few more dolls but they are not really the main part of my collection. I also have a few Raggedy Ann dolls. There is something special about the LaLa dolls. The happy faces, the colors, the way they are made, their uniqueness....all of these attract me to them. As far as other things, I collect primitive farmhouse style furniture, old wooden spoons, wooden dough bowls & trenchers, old wooden boxes, yellow ware mixing bowls, old pottery crocks, Pfaltzgraff Folk Art Dinnerware (that we use everyday), tiny antique toys, and a few other things. I can't wait to hear about everyone's collectibles!

Oh my, where do I begin!! Well now I collect these girls! I've always loved dolls, I have Tonner dolls, Riley and her friends, Barbies and AG and a bunch of baby dolls and Baby Face dolls. I also have a collection of sewing machines: small knick knacky ones and real ones to sew with. I really enjoy a vintage machine at a good price (like $5.00 for a vintage mini kenmore that does quite a bit and is great to sew with).
I collect patterns--anything for dolls.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

some of my teacups are here www.flickr.com/photos/inkie-mummy/sets/72157623567987810/bama: I'd say I'd have forty or so, it's taken a back seat to my Lalaloopsy collecting, it's around $5 for a teacup while Lala's are around the $40 mark here. which reminds me, I should go thrifting next week to look for some more Funnymom8: love the idea of collecting sewing machines, do you have any pictures?

Oh wow! Inkie, your tea cups are sooooo pretty! I bet its hard to choose a favorite! funnymom8, I used to collect BabyFace dolls too! I love them! I sold all of mine, plus 99% of the rest of my doll collection for financial reasons awhile back. But after some time passed things got better and I started collecting dolls again. I knew I would never be able to get some of the BFs that I once had, so I chose not to collect them again. My favorite was So Caring Karen from the second Edition. I loved her! Which ones do you have? This is a fun thread!

Bama--I have quite a few of the baby face dolls. One day I went to a thrift store and there were about 20 of them and I bought almost all of them. I've sold two and want to sell the doubles that I have, I just haven't had time to do that. They're all in played with condition, some had hair cuts, but I think for doll restorers they're still good. I want to keep some, but just have a small collection, since I have so many dolls already. My favorite has to be Heidi!

As for sewing machines, I do have some pics, I need to look for them. I use most of my machines too; some do stitches that the other don't and depending on how I feel or what I'm working on. I'll try to get pics the beginning of this coming week.

I found this picture of my knick knacky sewing machines, I usually have them like this on a shelf over my real sewing machine, but now things are changing into snowmen (which I also collect). Just found these two pics of some of my favorites but had to retire them for now:

Inkie - Your teacup collection is stunning. I'm very taken with it. And your photography is wonderful, too - the settings you've created to photograph them.
Do you love drinking tea as well?
Funnymom8 - love the little sewing machines. Very unique!

tea drinking is also a hobby of mine I love tea, my grandmother introduced me to it when I was quite young. Everytime I see a tea cup or drink tea it reminds me of her, she was a beautiful lady.

We are tea drinkers too. I prefer tea over ice, just as I do my coffee. Hubby thinks I am beyond weird about this. ;D I do love hot cocoa, but for some reason hot tea & coffee are not as appealing to me.

Oh my gosh what DON'T I collect? seriously, I have a problem, I could be on the show "Hoarders" (I hope I'm not that bad). I have kind of stopped collecting things because I get so out of hand and the only thing I have been into recently are these dolls, which have made me start buying every piece of fabric I can get my hands on. Luckily I already have been collecting fabric for over 10 years I have a huge collection of Dream Pets: Jewelery: Bradley Dolls: most of them are in boxes in the basement because I just redecorated Beyond too big collection of owls: Imagine this x1000 that I just recently put away in boxes plus probably 30 vintage pictures/wall hangings of them Deer: I have more packed away Acrylic Grapes: ...More packed away again... Toys of any variety: Thousands packed away never threw anything away from when I was little Vintage Board Games: Black Velvet Paintings: Weird Fluorescent Knick Knack things: Anything that is Mid-Century Modern or vintage and cute: Books: (I have a separate giant kid book collection in Elwynn's Room) Comics: (Mostly She-Hulk I an only missing one issue) Dream Pets: Hard to see in this photo and I packed them away but they are these things: I have a bunch of porcelain kittys, VHS tapes of metal bands from the 80's, vintage glassware with pop culture stuff on it or cute 60's designs, vintage bed linens (why? I don't know) and most of all clothing, like a serious problem of having too many. Here is how much I GOT RID OF at our garage sale this summer, not even a dent in what I kept I really have too many to even think of, I just love STUFF! (much to my boyfriend's dismay)

I'm covered in tattoos and I love to look at other peoples tastes/styles. I also collect fabric, only been doing it for a couple of years but I buy a few yards a week now... my etsy account is a shamless fabric buying enabler lol

WOW! I love all of your collections Ellwynn! I wouldn't have room for one tiny fraction of what you have! But what fun to collect so many things! Your home must be like a funhouse with all the bright colors and fun toys. I bet kids go nuts when they see your stuff.
Thanks for shairng! It put a big smile on my face to look through your photos.

Elwynn, I want so badly to live with you! We love so many of the same things: fabrics, thrifting, owls, deer, comics, DREAM PETS! I got so giddy looking through all your photos, and now I've become inspired to make a dent in my "stuff" to make room for...more "stuff!" ;D As most of my collections are of vintage or handmade items, I'm most often able to find the necessary fodder through eBay, Etsy, or thrifting. I prefer to find my vintage toys (especially those from my own childhood) mint-in-box as often as possible, just to have the full "four-year-old on Christmas morning" effect that I'm sure you all know. At the moment, my primary vintage toy collections are Kenner Strawberry Shortcake, Tomy Tea Bunnies, and Fisher-Price Hideaway Hollow. I'll also take note of anything (toys, home decor, etc.) that features foxes, muffins, mushrooms, or carousels. Modern items I fancy include the 'Loops (of course), Build-A-Bear Workshop animals, Monster High plush dolls, Sonic the Hedgehog paraphernalia (figures, plush, and comics), Japanese Re-Ment miniatures, Sanrio Jewelpet items, and any furniture or accessories compatible with my dolls or stuffies.

I used to go to the thrift store every day almost, which is why my house is overflowing. I will be 28 on Nov 27th and I have like 5 peoples lifetimes worth of stuff already! I figured I better stop thrifting for a while at least. For toys I LOVE anything cute and must have! I think those monster high dolls are so cute but I havent got any yet. I love going to the Sanrio store and love Deery Lou the best although there is never anything with her on it. I love classic Hello Kitty and My Melody things too although I sold most of my hello kitty and powerpuff girl stuff at my garage sale last summer. I still have all of my Barbies, My Little Ponies and Moon Dreamers from when I was little and still buy a Barbie every once in a while if I am totally in love with it. I think Littlest Pet shops are pretty cute and have a few but not obsessed because there are just TOO many of them. Actually LPS has just recently came out with sites that include mini Blythe dolls and I think I need one for xmas. I have wanted a Blythe doll since I was in high school but still have never bought one. I really like all of these too www.junplanningusa.com/ so cute! And the clothing you can buy on Etsy for them is out of this world to die for. I love Strawberry shortcake too and when I do go to thrift stores I always buy any old toy that I liked when I was little or remembered. I have some stuff that I bought that I plan to sell on Ebay if I ever get around to it (which i never will) like Cabbage Patch kids in their boxes and other stuff. Oh that reminds me I went to this church childrens sale a few years ago and they had every strawberry shortcake character from the 80s in their boxes for $5 each so I bought them all planning to sell them. Hmm wonder where I put those... Ok I am just bored and rambling now. I love talking about treasures! Did you have Maple town Friends or Sylvanian families? I loved those and I saw a remake of them in a Creative Kids Stuff store the other day. My daughter is now 6 weeks old and I can't wait for her to be old enough to play with things!!!

oh and Inkie, my sleeve is just all Junko Mizuno art they a drew together into a collage of sorts. I havent got it worked on in about 5 years because I am lazy... I will try to take a better picture of it. But for all of you that love cute stuff you will love Junko Mizuno, even though a lot of her stuff is kind of "weird" as my mom would say. look it up in google image search if you haven't seen it yet ^_^

Sylvanian families OMG I have/had sooo much for their stuff, I love them. I had the fo family first when I was little circa 1986ish I wish I still had them but I made the mistake of letting my daughter play with them too early and she lost most of the bits she has three of the LPS blyth doll sets too they are super cute! I'm also starting a mushroom collection and foxes <3

I had a mushroom collection when I was in 8th grade and I still love them especially toadstools with the dots on top. I sold some of my less cute ones at my garage sale last summer though. I am really starting to love foxes too. A few weeks ago etsy featured fox-related stuff on the front page and they were so cute! I only have a couple foxes right now, one is a miniature porcelain one that is the size of a thimble that i keep prowling amongst my deer collection.

Oh my gosh, this discussion is getting so much fun! ;D No, I've never gone the Sylvanian/Maple route, but I will admit that since little flocked animals are another of my great loves, perhaps I should take it up. I guess it all started with the set of tiny pastel flocked bunnies (the standard craft kind that you don't see many of in stores these days) that I received one of my very first Easters. In quirky toddler fashion, I deemed them the "Pips." Elwynn, if you ever find all those dolls and plan to sell them at comparable prices to what you found them for, LET ME KNOW! I would be elated if you happened to find a Blueberry Muffin, Mint Tulip, Plum Puddin', or Peach Blush. Oh, and for the Sanrio collectors, Build-A-Bear will probably soon discontinue their limited edition My Melody, Chococat, and Keroppi. They're still available on the site, as is a Deery-Lou "tiny clip" (no accompanying full-size plush, sadly).

My daughter ahd Sylvanian Families too. I rememebr painstakingly buying all the families, the treehouse home the lodge house, etc. What fun! Too bad she sold most of her childhood toys a few yers ago. I have a few of her dolls, and that's about it. I had a few Bradley dolls growing up. My Mom collected owls and had quite a collection. My two older sisters divided it up, as I didn't have room for them. I was born in the 60s, and have a lot of memories from the 70s, so a LOT of the things in your photos are very familiar.

Everyone has such fabulous collections! I collect American Girl Dolls, Monster High Dolls, Starbucks City Mugs and I recently started collecting Harry Potter Lego sets (I'm starting with the current ones and moving forward, the older sets are too expensive on the secondary market.)
