i started my toy collecting with the g1 kenner littlest pet shop line when i was growing up... then as a senior in high school i decided to complete my collection and have been hooked on toys since. through the kenner pet shops i found kenner blythe (which are too expensive) but i have indulged in the re-make/current version of takara blythe... i got into mini lalaloopsies through a moxie doll release that had one with her... i wanted the doll for a prop for one of my blythe dolls and soon they came out with the lalaloopsy dolls... so... my collection grew... now i have also started collecting monster high dolls and i have a few disney/takara dollcenas and lps blythes... *whew* hopefully i start slowing down soon...
what else do you collect?

All my collections are just toys that my daughter likes. I am sort of ocd about complete collections so I also go too far, lol. My daughter has her Lalaloopsy collection, Tinkerbell and friends dolls, and a massive my little pony collection; she used to have a ton of build a bear toys but she sold a lot of them for more lalas. She gets to play with all of her collections because she takes good care, and when I was a kid a had a huge precious moments collection that I wasnt allowed to touch and I hated it.

I have one massive My Little Pony collection. I customized MLP and we collected them, our collection is 1000 plus. My oldest did Little Pet shops(which she wants to sell now), 2nd oldest is into SSC and fairies, 3rd child is the MLP freak! and My youngest liked Care Bears, Babies, Barbies and now Loopsy's! She is hooked on those! So i have been collecting quite a few things. But the my pride and joy are our Ponies!

I collect Strawberry Shortcake mainly, but I love lots of dolls from the 1970's and 80's. I have a small collection of Gene Marshall and Pullip dolls and various others that catch my fancy.

Oh goodness, when I was little I had a collection of well over 100 Kelly (the little sister of Barbie) dolls, I only ever had maybe 20 Barbies which I got rid of all of, but I still have a box full of Kelly dolls!
Now the only dolls I collect are Lalaloopsy (though I would love to get a nice BJD) However, I collect a large assortment of anime figures, graphic novels, character plates and other dishes, pins, badges, Pokemon cards, books and most recently I've started a tiny collection of Heroclix!
(Why yes, my room is very busy.)
P.S. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic coloring books. I only have 3 so far, but I predict growth.

I collect American Girl and Monster High dolls. I also have a lot of Barbies, but I wouldn't say I'm a collector necessarily. I only get the ones I like. I do have all of the Holiday Barbies ever made though, so I'm a Holiday Barbie collector. I started out getting Lalaloopsy as toys for my American Girl dolls, actually.

I collect Lalaloopsy, just the big dolls and the Holiday minis. I also asked DH to get me Pocohantas from the Disney Animators collection for Christmas...I would LOVE to get all of them someday! I was collecting MLP and LPS, but I have put them away and am planning on selling them to make room and money for more dolls

I collect My Little Pony figures from G3 (2003 - 2008) and Friendship is Magic (2010 - present). I also own a few Pullips (Romantic Alice and Romantic Alice Pink ver.), two ball-jointed dolls (Volks SD Nono 2008 Renewal and Volks MSD Nagisa in Preschool), and several plush toy animals that are also purses (made by one of my favourite clothing companies, BABY the Stars Shine Bright). I don't really collect the latter, per say, at least not at all in the way that I collect the ponies. When it comes to the ponies I'm a completist; I want everything, even the international exclusives and any re-releases. My other dolls are much more limited in the scope of what I am driven to buy.

Cutants from Polly Pocket are the only other thing my wife collects, aside from nutcrackers. I, on the other hand, collect Mighty Muggs, Mez-Itz, Funkeys, and all sorts of various toys/action figures. I want to collect Vinylmation, but they're far too expensive, so I only have my three free Toy Story ones that I got from Disney Movie Rewards (including the rare-ish chaser!). Same goes for Squatz; they're too expensive for what you get, so I only buy them on clearance. I'd also like to collect Gogos because they're small and simple, but there are hundreds and many of them have several variants, so I just buy a pack here and there when they're cheap. Oh, I also collect these little capsule hero toys. You know those quarter machines near the exits of most grocery stores where you put in a couple of quarters and get a cheap crummy toy? Well, they come in one of those, but instead of having a clear capsule like most toys, each capsule is a Marvel superhero's head and inside of the head is their body. There's nothing too special about them, but I love these little things. A friend in Canada sent me a few several months ago and I have since collected them all. There is also a set of Pixar characters, which I still need to get (only ~$8 on eBay). If you've ever seen Bok Choy Boy, it's the exact same concept but with licensed characters. I used to collect [Todd] McFarlane action figures and I still have a few hundred, but I have mostly lost interest because he has essentially betrayed his fans. We used to love this guy because of the insane amount of detail and quality he put into his toys, as well as his wild imagination and the fact that he and his employees would speak directly to us through the official forum. Then he went a little crazy, ended up paying millions of dollars for a couple of baseballs, and started focusing almost entirely on sports action figures as well as Halo and various cartoons and musicians that nobody cares about. The original stuff (Spawn, etc.), monsters, and horror movie characters went out the window and so did the quality. Now I can't get myself to actually buy any of his toys because they are so shoddy and cheap looking. Many of us have been huge fans of this guy for over 20 years and with his new focus and the recent removal of the forum where many of us have built lifelong friendships, we feel like we're not wanted anymore. It's sad; even his brother-in-law can't really stand him anymore because Todd's decisions have ruined his business (Kim, the brother-in-law, has been running a store that exclusively sells McFarlane products). I'm hoping he will end his flagship comic titles soon so I can finally cut off all ties. Wow, sorry about that rant. Being only 26, I've been invested in these products and characters for most of my life, so it's almost like losing a friend. Anyway, my biggest/main collection would have to be my video game collection. I don't know the exact number because I still have to add some PC games to my inventory list, but I have over 800 video games. For a 99% complete list, check here: www.backloggery.com/murgatroyd7This, of course, is a completely different kind of collection when compared to toys because there isn't that drive to be a completionist. Sure, there are some people who strive to own every game from certain consoles (like the guy who has a sealed copy of every PS2 game), but for most of us, it's just about getting what we think is fun to play. The only reasons why I consider myself a "collector" are because I take pride in their condition and because I keep everything that I like even if I know I'll never play it again. Some people will trade in their games for credit once they're done, but I can't stand to part with anything that I find remotely decent!

Wow, I am such a halfway collector, I always lose interest and end up selling/donating/throwing out my collections. Sometimes I wish I would have saved certain things but mostly I get tired of something and try to get a little money back. As a kid I collected Precious Moments which I sold about 2 years ago at a yard sale bc they aren't worth much. I also collected rocks (lol), troll dolls (those are the ones I wish I kept), pogs, beanie babies, lion king toys, toy story toys, spoons, and Russian nesting dolls (I still have those put away some were my grandmas). And my daughter and I have collected Tinkerbell, Cinderella, Build a Bear, MLP, and lalaloopsy. And my son has a small SF Giants bobblehead collection.

I used to collect American Girl like crazy. They were all I could think about. And Monster High came out and I was utterly obsessed. Now, I have 12 LaLas, with 2 more on their way home (Holly and Bea). I have to say they've really stolen my heart! I can't bare to sell my AG or any Monster High so they just hang around.

I really hope I don't lose interest in Lalas because I really, really do love them! I am in the process and starting to sell all my MLP and I also in the past collected Snow babies, gone...lol! And Willow People, those were creepy but I got them as gifts, they are also gone..lol

I also have a few willow people that were gifts. Lalas are more special to me because my daughter chose them and we collect together, I think even when she outgrows them I will save them. All the other collections I picked or my mom picked.

When I was younger I had a huge Strawberry Shortcake collection. My mother ended up selling it all off when I left for college. I really wish I still had them. Right now we're in the midst of the Monster High collecting craze. We have a few other dolls like American Girl and Disney.

I collect American Girl, Monster High, Hello Kitty...and now Lalaloopsy!
I say "I collect" but I don't feel the need to have everything that has been released, only the things I like the most (If they happen to be a limited or special edition; better!)

When I was younger I had a huge Strawberry Shortcake collection. My mother ended up selling it all off when I left for college. I really wish I still had them. Oh that is just heartbreaking. And all too common. Have you thought of recollecting? I run a fun Strawberry shortcake board, if your ever interested in revisiting SSC!
