I only collect Monster High dolls in a serious, completionist way. I love them so much. But there are lots of other things I'd like to collect, and some of them I am determined to do so when I get good job one day. Pullips are at the top of the list! They're so enchanting! Along with Beauty and the Beast merchandise, still one of my favorite movies of all time.
I wish I still had all my Littlest Pet Shop animals from when I was little! But I've of course I went through hundreds (possibly thousands) of toys back then, which I regularly had to pare down. By college the only things I had left were the extra special ones. Off the top of my head this includes my favorite G1 My Little Pony, a few beloved LPS kitties, my Cabbage Patch baby doll, and my Sailor Moon and Powerpuff Girl plushes.
I just love seeing everyone elses collections, too. MLP, LPS, Pullip, Disney - I want to ogle it! No matter that it often makes me pine for them. XD

I used to collect [Todd] McFarlane action figures and I still have a few hundred, but I have mostly lost interest because he has essentially betrayed his fans. We used to love this guy because of the insane amount of detail and quality he put into his toys, as well as his wild imagination and the fact that he and his employees would speak directly to us through the official forum. Then he went a little crazy, ended up paying millions of dollars for a couple of baseballs, and started focusing almost entirely on sports action figures as well as Halo and various cartoons and musicians that nobody cares about. The original stuff (Spawn, etc.), monsters, and horror movie characters went out the window and so did the quality. Now I can't get myself to actually buy any of his toys because they are so shoddy and cheap looking. Many of us have been huge fans of this guy for over 20 years and with his new focus and the recent removal of the forum where many of us have built lifelong friendships, we feel like we're not wanted anymore. It's sad; even his brother-in-law can't really stand him anymore because Todd's decisions have ruined his business (Kim, the brother-in-law, has been running a store that exclusively sells McFarlane products). I'm hoping he will end his flagship comic titles soon so I can finally cut off all ties. Wow, sorry about that rant. Being only 26, I've been invested in these products and characters for most of my life, so it's almost like losing a friend. Anyway, my biggest/main collection would have to be my video game collection. I don't know the exact number because I still have to add some PC games to my inventory list, but I have over 800 video games. For a 99% complete list, check here: www.backloggery.com/murgatroyd7This, of course, is a completely different kind of collection when compared to toys because there isn't that drive to be a completionist. Sure, there are some people who strive to own every game from certain consoles (like the guy who has a sealed copy of every PS2 game), but for most of us, it's just about getting what we think is fun to play. The only reasons why I consider myself a "collector" are because I take pride in their condition and because I keep everything that I like even if I know I'll never play it again. Some people will trade in their games for credit once they're done, but I can't stand to part with anything that I find remotely decent! That's so sad about the downfall of the McFarlane line. It's totally understandable that you would feel betrayed. I don't find the sports and Halo figures even remotely interesting either, while I completely adore all the intricate Horror type lines. I'm a big fan of Clive Barker too. Maybe in the future I can collect them secondhand. And I totally understand about the video games! I don't play much anymore (WoW kind of took over all of my game time for like, literally years), but I too fastidiously hang on to any game I enjoyed at all. My boyfriend is the exact opposite, he'll sometimes be so quick to trade-in something we'll have to buy it back later because we need it again! So sometimes I have to snatch something away if I want to keep it myself. XD I also have this problem where if there's a special edition, -that- is the only edition that will do, regardless of how useless or unimpressive the actual special aspects of it may be. I just have to have the most complete, 'special' version! That drives my boyfriend kind of crazy. >.> It's probably most expensive when it comes to games, but I do it with movies and any other thing that happens to come that way too.

Rain damage took out all my childhood toys when I was in middle school... maybe that's why I'm so into dolls now? I collect and customize Monster High dolls, Blythe, Pullip, Ball Jointed dolls and of course Lalaloopsy dolls.

When I was younger I had a huge Strawberry Shortcake collection. My mother ended up selling it all off when I left for college. I really wish I still had them. Oh that is just heartbreaking. And all too common. Have you thought of recollecting? I run a fun Strawberry shortcake board, if your ever interested in revisiting SSC! I thought about it, especially recently since I just saw the new girl, Cherry Jam at Wal Mart a couple weeks ago.

The horror stuff is great and it's sad that they don't do that anymore, not even generic stuff. They had a really good thing going with the Movie Maniacs line, but they completely dropped the ball and now NECA has taken over all of the licenses. I was really anti-NECA for quite a while, but over the years, they have proven that they can pull of great sculpts and reasonable articulation (as opposed to McFarlane's plastic statuettes). You should definitely try to get ahold of the Tortured Souls sometime. Those were during McFarlane's heyday when they ruled the toy scene. These beautifully grotesque abominations haven't dropped in price over the last 10 years (they haven't really gone up either, though!) but they are absolutely worth it. I still remember the day I got my pre-ordered set of the original figures (a few days before release) from Spider's Web. They disgusted my family, but those suckers were proudly displayed for years. That was back when the toys had amazing detail and ample articulation and didn't break if you looked at them funny. Toys from The Four Horseman are worth keeping an eye on, by the way. They gave us a lot of the classic Spawn toys when they were more like toys and less like display pieces. They're putting out some really neat stuff right now and I look forward to seeing what else they have up their sleeves. I just have to have the most complete, 'special' version! That drives my boyfriend kind of crazy. >.> It's probably most expensive when it comes to games, but I do it with movies and any other thing that happens to come that way too. I'm glad to see that someone else here enjoys video games. Guys like your boyfriend really bug me when it comes to games. Ha ha. I know it's silly of me, but it just drives me crazy when I read about people playing a game for a little while, trading it in, and then buying it again later when the price drops or DLC comes out. I see a lot of that on another forum I frequent. I'm not quite as bad as you when it comes to special editions. I would definitely prefer getting enhanced versions of games, but I only do so if the price difference is negligible or if the content is worth it. I pass on most JRPG's because they usually just include the soundtrack, but I'll get them if they're only a few dollars more (the few I have were actually cheaper than the standard version when I bought them). On very rare occasions, I will pay full price for collector's editions. In fact, I have done it for exactly three games so far: Fable 3, Fallout: New Vegas, and Gears of War 3. The first two were good calls because they're hard to get now, and Gears 3 was basically free because I used store credit that I got from trade-ins and online surveys. Most of the time, I just wait it out until these things go on sale. Most recently, I bought Killzone 3: Helghast Edition and Bioshock 2: Limited Edition (already owned the standard game, which I got for free) for $25 each and I think I got the Fallout 3 lunchbox for $5 or $10. I watch all of the deals like a hawk!

I collect a lot of things. It's kinda bad haha. Little hinged boxes, pins, Beauty and the Beast stuff, Twilight stuff (my mom and I are really into it), I also have the Growing Up Girls from Enesco, my grandmother started it when I was born. There's one for being born, every age 1-16, graduation, and a wedding one. I just need the wedding one now, but I'm not married so that'll wait a while haha.
For dolls, I also collection American Girl and Disney dolls. I also have a few other brands thrown in (like Barbie, Monster High, and Living Dead) but I don't have enough to really consider them separate collections, I just consider them part of my doll collection.

I want some of those superhero toys, but I can't justify the price for them and I never see them on sale anywhere. I do have have a Funko vinyl that I just had to have, though, but I don't think it's part of the Pop lineup:

I do have have a Funko vinyl that I just had to have, though, but I don't think it's part of the Pop lineup: I started my collection with the basic ones I found at Barnes and Noble. Wal Mart carries them too for $10.95. Yesterday they still had about a dozen Avengers Pops on the shelf. When you start looking at limiteds and chasers that's when they get expensive. I was looking at the prototypes on ebay and those start at $70!

Sheesh, that's awful. And I was referring to the ones I see for $6-$8 at Target; I didn't realize just how expensive they get. It's the same way with Skylanders, though, which I finally completed (not counting limited variants). I'm currently waiting on one particular variant that goes for about $130 online.

I have a few accidental collections, the most obvious in my room is [G4] My Little Pony, haha. I started off buying only two regular My Little Pony dolls, since Honeybuzz was too cute to pass up, and I wanted to try styling Fluttershy's hair. After McDonalds started releasing the MLP toys, I had to pick those up too, especially since they're only $.99 each in my area. I was completely content! I didn't need any more. Once the smaller blindbag figures started popping up, I got a few for myself. Since they're little, I can display some no problem. Then the next blind bag series came out, so I picked up a few more there. When Hasbro, in their marketing brilliance, have me running around everywhere looking for their little figure sets which contain more show-exclusive characters (Zecora, Granny Smith, Gilda, etc). Then they started releasing special edition ponies to honor the fans, and I couldn't pass up a glowy Zecora or the Nightmare Moon set (I actually ended up buying two Nightmare Moon sets, one for my friend's birthday/christmas! Ouch, my wallet) I was CONSIDERING a white Celestia, since she's part of the collector series too, but she's so big, I don't know where I'd put her! And just recently Funko made an unofficial-fan-mascot Derpy vinyl along with Rainbow Dash, and they're just so nice I couldn't not pick them up... mini Curls 'N' Locks actually sits on Derpy's tail, that's how big they are! I can only display one at a time. Hasbro needs to stop being awesome, I can't take much more running around! They've been releasing so much within the past two months. >:0 I also have way too many Pokemon plush, but I just can't bring myself to part with them, as most of them were gifts or were from a special event. Ahhh, I should just bite the bullet and try to part with a few.. I do have a sizable Slowpoke collection that I am quite proud of, though! I actually made a website for it, but it's out of date. I need to bring myself to take more pictures of my missing items! Around my computer I have a few Zoids models that I've built and painted, both motorized and poseable, but I pretty much stopped collecting those as they got quite pricy. Clearly the last thing I need to be doing is collecting Lalas, but I promise it will only be a few

Orangeblossom I'd love to join! What's the name? I just started collecting lalaloopsy. I love ssc. That goes back to my childhood. My youngest and I just started a small collection of older Lps. I also kind of collect kitchen items, like vintage Pyrex, jadeite mixing bowls, enamelware, etc. That kind of got put on hold due to cost, a recent move and it takes up alot of space. My husband and I together collect art and htf art prints.
