I thought it would be fun to include an area where we can share our other doll collections and collectibles. So here are some of mine....... Meg, Emmaline, Suzannah, April & Louisa Ginger Brook Hollow Dolls ~ There are seven orphan girls and I have five so far. I hope to get the other two and their "Grandma Sunday" next year. These are my number one favorites! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Life of Faith Dolls ~ There are five of these, but I have the two that I want. Kathleen McKenzie ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a photo of my daughter's childhood MY CHILD doll. It was her favorite out of all the dolls she ever had. I saved about 90% of her dolls anyway. ;D ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There are a few more, but I think this is enough to post for now. I hope the rest of you will share your collections.

Thank you, Julie! The GBH dolls have a wonderful website and "April" writes a daily diary entry. You have to join the webstie to gain access to the "town" and diary. When you join you will get all sorts of fun stuff in the mail. gingerbrookhollow.comEach doll has a different face sculpt, except the two twins. I only have one of the twins so far. The dolls are 17 inches tall, slim body and mulit-jointed. They have extra joints in their elbows & knees. The quality is amazing & the characters are awesome! I can't say enough about them! I recently started a doll blog. I have lots of photos of them and a few of my other dolls. I'll put the link in my siggy for anyone who might be interested in taking a peek. P.S. I have not included the LaLas on my blog as of yet. The blog is mainly about dolls from earlier time periods.

Thanks Inkie & Dawn. Yes, teh MC is all original, right down to the socks & hair ribbons. My daughter always took good care of her things. But she deos need some attention to her baggy skin on her chin. I guess that happens with age? And I really need to re-do her hair. I have been afraid to touch it. LOL!

Thanks Dawn! They are really special dolls. You can buy from the website, although there are a select few doll shops that also carry them. If you call the number listed, you will more than likely talk to the lady who wrote all the books & diary and "created" these wonderful dolls. She is such a nice lady! She hired artists to actually sculpt the dolls, but all the ideas, hair/eye color, etc were her ideas. The dolls I have are the 17 inch size, but she also makes an 8 inch size that ar darling and also individual face sculpts, except for the twins, of course. They are much more affordable, but are not nine-jointed like the bigger dolls. If you join the website, she will send you goodies in the mail too and sometimes freebies. She is very generous to her members. The daily diary makes collecting so unique because you really learn about how the orphans lived and about their characters. Each doll also has a paperdoll book with their complete history in it, along with the paperdolls. There are contest periodically with great prizes too! There's just so much to love about these sweet dolls. And if you love history like I do, you will love them even more.

I have been meaning to post about this for a couple of weeks and kept getting busy and forgot to do it. I'm very sad to say that the 17 inch Ginger Brook Hollow dolls are being discontinued. This is being done because of laws changing in the toy business. Very difficult for me to explain. Cheri sent out a newsletter and it is filled with contests and info. Because of this the dolls are on a MAJOR SALE! So if you would like to try one, this is the time. They have been reduced from $170.00 each to $74.50!!! This is an incredible sale! There are contests that you can win a doll of your choice. If you check the website in the "newspaper" section, it will give you the details. Or you can call and request the latest newsletter. I am participating in all the contests. Because of the sale, I was able to add the last two orphan sisters to my collection a lot sooner than I thought (thanks hubby!). I still hope to get Grandma Sunday one day. I'm sooooo happy to have them all. Here are all my girls together. They are dressed in their "pastel pinafores" and ready for Easter. (Sorry about the photo quality. It is very dark and raining here. I had the lights on and used the flash, but the dark background sucked the light out of it anyway).

This is very sad news, they are such lovely dolls. I had always planned to get one or two "in the future." And now the future is here. I'm really leaning towards Johannah because she's the one who's features are most like Summer. Do you have a favorite Bama? Congratulations on having them all!

No problem! I don't mind the questions. I hope the word is spread so that others who really want these dolls will have a chance to get them. For now, the website is not going anywhere. Cheri is working on a new improved site, but it will be awhile before its ready. The daily diary entreis will still be posted until the end of August. But mark this down on your calendar..... during the month of July, everything will be shown on the website. Past journal entries, patterns, recipes, crafts, etc. So make sure you check it out in case you have missed something. I missed the frist few months of the diary, so I am looking forward to reading that for sure! The little dolls were being sold until the last day of February and Cheri plans to save the rest to start another Dream Circle this Fall. You could call and ask to be sure. If she still has a very lot of them, she may still sell them. Just not sure. I'm going by the newsletter's info. And the little dolls are just as special as the big ones. They don't have all the joints, but each face had to be re-sculpted to make them. Their heads & arms are strung for a bit more posability. The legs are like traditional doll legs. I am going to make a good effort to join the Dream Circle this Fall! Cheri plans to continue offering dresses for the 17 inch dolls. But there will be no more shoes made for them. The shoes are very inexpensive (and wonderful!), so if you get a 17 inch doll, it would be wise to go ahead and get all the shoes offered. They are very old-fashioned and perfect for the GBH girls. So far, I have not found another pair of shoes that fits them. My last order was enough of the brown shoes for all my girls. I got the white ones with their pastel pinafores. Speaking of the white shoes, if you call or email Cheri, she will send you a free pair of white shoes to decorate for the shoe contest. She she ships them free also! The winner gets a 17 inch doll of their choice! There is also a "button contest" in the newsletter. So if you haven't signed up for the newsletter, do it NOW! ;D Cheri is also working on new stories for the GBH line and new dolls. I am excited to see the new dolls. I don't really know if they will be new characters or a new style of the orphan sisters. So as sad as it is about the 17 inch dolls, at least there are new things to look forward to and the GBH line will continue. I'd be crushed if she didn't continue! Thanks about my collection. When I first started, I never dreamed I'd actually be able to get them all. This is such a blessing! And Cheri has become a friend. As for my favorite.......that's a super hard question! I really love them all. It's funny that in the beginning, I didn't think I would like Emmaline or April very much, but I adore them now. They are much more beautiful in person. April's personality is a lot like mine, but I see a bit of myself in all of them. That's how they worm their way into our hearts! If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. As you can see, I love talking about them. Good luck! I hope you can get the dolls you want before they are all gone.

LOL! I was answering your other post and you changed it. ;D
Johannah is wonderful! My first favorite was Meg, but then I wanted Suzannah because she is so much like my Granddaughter, but when I made my first order, I had to get them both. Then something caught my eye about Louisa and I ordered her too. ;D So instead of getting one doll like I planned, I got three. Of course, now I'm glad becasue that only left four more to get. hehehe!

My dreams have come true! I now have all seven orphan sisters and Grandma Sunday! She arrived Saturday with a second 17 inch Suzannah for my granddaughter as my free doll. I was so nervous about spending that much omney for one doll, even though I knew I would get a second doll free. I worked ahrd to raise the money and then waited and thought really hard about it before I ordered her. I'm soooooooo glad I did! Grandma is very beautiful. She is so much more-so in person. She is an amazing doll! She is big (22 inches tall), even bigger than I was expecting. But that's okay. She looks wonderful with the orphans all around her. Unfortunately I haven't made a space large enough to get them all in one shot yet. Sitting in an American Girl sized chair. Her WONDERFUL high button shoes! The white areas are flash issues. It was hard to get a good photo of these. I LOVE them! And because the pic of Kathryn didn't turn out too great.... I am sooooooo happy that I took the plunge and got her. The only thing that I'm not crazy about is the hat. It's pretty, but seems a bit smallish. In all fairness, I may not have it on her correctly. I do know that some hats from that time period just sat on the very top of the head, so it is accurate. Its very detailed with black lace, & real feathers, black & white striped ribbon and a burgundy rosette to match her lovely outfit. Thanks for sharing my squee!

Thanks Summersmama! She is a stunning doll and so many fun details that you can't see until you actually see her in person, like the corset! I'm still pinching myself! I have seen some of thsoe photos posted on other sites, but not on flickr. I love the one of Grandma with her hair down! So pretty! I chose Suzannah for my free doll because she is my granddaughter's favorite. I was sort of planning to put her away for awhile, but she happened to be here when the package arrived. I couldn't wait another minute to open it! LOL! She was thirlled to say the least. She is 6 & 1/2, but treats her special things (and mine) very gently.
