I hope this is the right place to ask questions about customs. I have a couple of minis that would be great for a custom idea I have but for it to work the heads would need to be on the opposite bodies. Does anyone know how to go about doing a head swap for the minis? I don't want to do something wrong and ruin them.

Nevermind. I got impatient and tried it myself. I didn't break them so I guess that's good.

Glad to hear that it worked out. That may be good to know for future reference.

you can easily pry the outfit apart with a slim tool, thus causing the head, arms and legs to come apart, it does not break, and you can easily glue it back together.

What'd you do? Last time I tried to swap doll heads, I broke poor Anastasia's neck (oops). She wasn't a Lala though so nothing to apply to their little bodies haha. Did you just pull it or pry it, or did you heat it first? For my customs I'm sometimes looking for something specific in the head (like a particular hairstyle) and something specific in the body (like a dress or apron) and can't find them both in one doll. The ability to swap heads would be awesome.

Using a hair dryer or hot water usually helps to make the plastic a bit more pliable. I've never done it with a Lala, but it tends to work for most other toys.

I will try the hair dryer, it can take alot of effort to get the outfit apart, some aren't always difficult, i think its because they were not glued properly in the factory. i have had few mini lala's come apart when I take them out of their packaging
