Thank you so much Bama and Julie !
Yes, I am happy to have been able to adopt Summer last year. She really is a doll and so real looking indeed. I do collect lifelike baby or child dolls, I just love how real they look and it is truly amazing.
Julie that is too cute, if your little one thinks she is real then she is...hee hee.

I've only got one of those stupid real babies. He's cute and all, but he sure does stink. If you're referring to an actual child, your statement sounds quite horrid. Now, if you're referring to a lifelike silicone doll, they do not stink. At all. I find your response disturbing, either way.

I'm referring to my son. And yes, the smell can be quite horrid at times.

It's cute but I really don't like any life-like dolls. I don't know, they just creep me out.

My wife and I are the same way. It's kinda like that whole "uncanny valley" thing. We are naturally drawn to human-like characters/creations because we can relate to them, but once they become what one might consider "too human", it starts to make us uncomfortable. It tends to bring up subconscious worries about mortality, inferiority, and such (and movies like Child's Play don't help much). Just watch A.I. (based on "Supertoys Last All Summer Long" by Brian Aldiss) to see what I mean.
Anyway, with that said, I'm still happy to see someone add to their collection even if it's something I don't personally like. We can't all have the same tastes!

^^^ yes we all have different tastes, my best friend thinks lalaloopsies are creepy bc of coraline. I get scared of the life like ones because of child's play, it was my first scary movie. But I can appreciate how hard it must be to make them look so real, my grandma has one too and my daughter used to think she was a real baby.

Ha ha, a friend's daughter also thinks Lalaloopsies are creepy because of Coraline. I initially thought they were creepy just because the thread in their eyes makes them look dead; I never made the connection to Coraline until she said something. It's too bad 'cause we were going to give her a bunch of extra Lala stuff for Christmas...she got stuff from the local bug museum instead.

Ok, I have a really stupid question, but who is Coraline?

It's a movie, there is a little button eyed doll that watches her. It's a kids movie so its not scary but it could be a little creepy for some people.

Some people get a bit creeped out by the movie because the title character ends up in a place where her family is replaced with Stepford versions of themselves with button eyes.

I love the realism in the dolls I collect, honestly they do not creep me out, they are after all just dolls. My family loves my dolls but my daughters and my husband were a bit on the fence about this young lady below and of course the baby I shared above, as one of my younger ones said they are creepy because they are too real looking. This is Victoria by Sissel Bjoerstad Skille she is a Ooak clay sculpt and 31 " tall, my husband says if he sees her move she has to leave our bedroom ;D

You keep her in your bedroom? I find her incredibly cute but I wouldn't wanna to go to bed with her right there! xD Is her hair rooted? It was done very nicely. Her teeth were done very well too. I've seen so many toddlers/kiddos with very weird looking teeth (dolly wise).
