Has anyone tried to remove pieces from a Little's hair? For example, removing the pigtails from Twinkle (leaving just the ponytail). Think it would be doable without damaging the doll too much? (I wouldn't even consider it with a big doll, but the Littles' heads are made much differently, so it made me wonder if it would work...)

I have removed plenty from all sorts of Lala's. Even tho the Littles heads are thicker caps, you still may find that they are not solid and will have little holes or gaps to fill.

So you've had experience cutting hair pieces off? What would you recommend to fill in any holes?

I have not cut the entire tail off, but the decorations are bad enough. Some are molded to the head, MOST arent, but made as a seperate piece, with a stem if you will, and that stem is then glued into the headcap.
As for filling gaps, if you want to keep for play, clear silicone used very sparingly would work, but I never use anything to actually fill the holes left when I get rid of something, as I usually have something I have made to cover it, like a bow or hat or something. MGA changes the vinyl all the time ~ different dolls have different kinds for the headcaps, which is different from the face vinyl which is different from the hard vinyl the arms and legs are made of...which is different again from the plastic the nappy cap is (undies).

I've removed bows from some of the bigger dolls' heads before with no problem. Now I don't know what to do. I'd be so ticked off if I completely ruined a Little by removing the pigtails, but I'd be so much happier with its looks if I could do it successfully. what would you recommend using to try to remove them, rlkinnison? Heat, or just cutting, or...?

a sharp knife~ I use straight razor blades, a brand new one for each dolly I do Cut as much with the contour of the head as possible~ dont cut straight across, remember what is underneath should be round ....... keep your eye out for a damaged one on eBay, and then use THAT one for all your expiriments. I have lalas all sorts of different colors, with cut off parts and pieces....all sorts of weird Mad Sceintist looking girls and NO, not taking pictures~HA!
