It's a tradition here in my house hold (in Australia if that makes any difference) we give the kids each a Santa sack/stocking full of little gifts for them to open from Santa. We doesn't do big presents from Santa, so this is it from the big red guy. So I can't really put my haul up on line in case the kidlets (or my husband see, his are the bottom right corner) but I really wanted to share somewhere and I would LOVE to see what everyone else does. I know different families and countries have their own thing so it would be great to compare. So here's our Santa gifts

Is that a tube of condensed milk? I've never seen that. Must be an Australian thing.
At our house the kids ask Santa for something and that's what they get. DD has asked for a Lalaloopsy 4 years in a row. Crumbs, Suzette, Ivory, and now Confetti.

We do stocking stuffers which consists of small items like you have. No Santa here in my home, although my oldest son probably still thinks he really does exist.
Off topic...The tube of milk is freaking me out!

lol really? It's quite a common thing here. Sweeten condensed milk is awesome, happily eat it by the spoon full when I was a kid. Not now, far too sweet.

I live in Chicago. I usually put a mini in the kids' stockings and then Santa delivers the rest. We tell the kids we have to send Santa money to help with all gifts so it doesn't seem like we're not getting them anything. P.S. Seeing the tube of milk is new to me, but I liked it as a kid as well!

Santa here (Italy) shares his gift bringing job with older times Baby Jesus in yet more religious families. But younger fathers even dress up and run around the garden in Santa costumes at midnight, to show he's doing the job! At my place Santa has never been seen, he's magic, won't show himself! So my daughter always found her presents under the tree on Christmas morning (as I used to!!). Presents for adults, not from Santa could be placed under it beforehand. As a rule of thumb she always got what she asked for, plus much more! Christmas is the time when your wishes can be important ones! So the huge Barbie house or the expensive release of a favorite doll, beautiful books, etc. were her presents when she was small. Now it's a new computer or something special to wear, plus a doll (we are both collectors!) or accessories. We still give her a sock full of...new socks (!) and chocolate (we don't like candy!) on the 6th of January, that day is the Befana here, and old lady dressed in rags that rides a broom during the night bringing sweets and little presents to good children and sugar coal to nasty ones! In the south of the country she's more important than Santa!
We get Nestle condensed milk here also! I used to love it when I was small! My mother's aunt kept it in a tall cupboard and when on vacation at her place in summer...I used to climb on a chair to steal a bit of it sucking it directly out of the tube!

Our tradition is we set the Xmas tree up the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday for you in the states). Then we have our Elf on the Shelf come that evening and watch over the girls throughout the next month reporting back to Santa each night. If they start misbehaving, our elf goes back to Santa to report the bad behavior and they receive a note from Santa or our elf the next morning letting them know they better shape up!
For Christmas, we usually do half gifts from Santa, half from mommy & daddy. Christmas is huge in our family, I have a bit of a problem when it comes to saying no to my girls. Girls are so easy to buy for and I use Christmas as the excuse for buying everything. I go overboard every year even though ever year I say I won't.

lalacr8zy It sounds like our traditions are pretty similar to yours ... Banana has an Elf on the Shelf that keeps an eye on her for Santa too! And I think she's more excited about him coming back on Black Friday than she is about Thanksgiving! LOL This is the third year he's been around. His name is "Snowball"

The girl is Snowflake, and the boy is L My oldest named the boy when she was 3 so he just got a letter, Lol! Usually ours comes on Black Friday too, but since we set the tree up early the elves came too

Here is our tree up. We put it up a couple days early. Your tree is lovely and placed in a perfect setting! I'd love a window like that and the snow outside (only for Christmas though! LOL!)! I have elves also, but they've been here only for nine years now, and come out only on "red" decoration years (we each get to choose the color every other year...when it's my turn it's usually a country style red/white decor on a green tree!). This year my daughter chose white, so to surprise her (she's studying on the continent) I bought a white tree and new icicle like lights! She'll arrive to find it lit in the afternoon!
